Cochran Park

Cochran park, just west of 365, was the vacant lot playground of Fitzgerald, Ben Griggs, the Driscoll twins and their friends; football and baseball their favorite sports.

Benjamin Griggs, a classmate at SPA and a member of the Saturday afternoon dancing class, remained a good friend throughout Fitzgerald’s life - offering him a job as advertising manager at Griggs Cooper and Co.  Even though he was out of work after his WWI service, Fitzgerald turned it down to stay at 599 Summit and rewrite This Side of Paradise.
